Waxlight bar-a-vin is a wine & beverage focused restaurant. We aimed to create a sensual space that is both relaxed yet glamorous.
A space where marriage of materials, color, and light create a cozy and intimate vibe. A subtle dance in shades of midnight blue and dusty pink is complemented with warm lighting. A blend of tradition and contemporaneity is seen in the brass lighting from the original Hotel Lafayette and sleek key lighting above restaurant tables. We are proud to have created a highly and effortlessly photographable space in Waxlight, that of course complements the extraordinary food and James Beard semi-finalist 'outstanding wine and other beverage' program.
A realization of a vision where we imagined a sexy, inspired, and creative space. We wanted to marry the new with the old, the existing with the experimental, and the subtle with the sexy. Housed in an old factory, which was also the inspiration for the name, the warmth that the space exudes is inviting.
We had fun designing this space from using tropical jungle wallpaper to the world's tiniest-most-talked-about-sink in the restroom. We hope you enjoy this space as much as we did designing and furnishing it.
